Activity Schedule  Wolf River Stream Stroll

07/14/2012, 10:00 AM to Noon

Location: Bateman Bridge - map

Description:

This event is the perfect way to introduce adults and children alike to the beauty, fun and biological diversity of the Wolf River. We will meet at Bateman Bridge, one of the Wolf River’s loveliest and most accessible sites.

Cathy Justis, naturalist and WRC Education Director, will bring nets, buckets and pans and we will wade in the shallow river and capture and identify as many kinds of river critters as possible. We'll look at them up close and discuss their role in the ecosystem before releasing them back into the water. Participants may also choose to simply swim, play, and enjoy the scenery at this beautiful spot. Please bring a picnic lunch or visit one of Moscow’s great BBQ restaurants, or the Wolf River Cafe or Molino's in Rossville, and return home at your leisure.

Shoes are required and sturdy shoes for wading are highly recommended! Flip flops and crocs tend to slip off of feet and disappear downstream.  An old pair of sneakers works great!

To register, email Cathy or call her at 452-6500 x302.

Meet at: Bateman Bridge. You will reach Bateman Rd. 2.5 miles east of the Hwy. 57/76 junction in Moscow. Turn south (right) from Hwy 57, until you reach Bateman Bridge. "
