Join the ranks of those who treasure our trees. Enroll in the Urban Forestry Advisor course being sponsored by the West Tennessee Chapter of the TN Urban Forestry Council and Memphis Botanic Garden.

Classes will be held at MBG on consecutive Wednesdays, starting Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The fee is $80 per person, and includes class materials and a one-year membership to the TN Urban Forestry Council and the local West TN chapter.

Instructors include Eric Bridges, Natural Resources Director for the City of Lakeland; Wesley Hopper, president of the Southeast Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture; Shawn Posey, West TN Regional Urban Forester; and Jim Volgas, certified arborist and Master Gardener.

Participants must submit an application for the course, and understand that in exchange for 20 hours of training, they agree to volunteer at least 20 hours of service to projects recognized by the West Tennessee Chapter within a calendar year.
