About the Office of Sustainability

Click here to learn more about the new Mayors’ Energy Challenge.

In 2008, the region’s first agenda for sustainability was completed with the Sustainable Shelby Implementation Plan. This plan established a strategic framework for action with regard to “green” initiatives in Memphis and Shelby County. The Memphis and Shelby County Office of Sustainability has been charged with the implementation and oversight of the Sustainable Shelby Implementation Plan. The Office of Sustainability will be the area’s leading advocate and resource for sustainability and will coordinate various regional initiatives.
